We’re sorry to hear you lost your job. While we can’t comment on the specifics of your situation, we know the NLRB is a hot-button issue for many companies.

Some of our customers were excited to display the new poster as soon as it was released, but others asked GovDocs to delay shipments until nearer to the effective date (which currently is April 30, 2012). We pride ourselves on being able to offer this type of flexibility to our customers.

We wish you luck in finding a new position.

I strongly believe I was recently terminated because of this regulation. As the HR executive of this particular firm, I advised the senior management of the upcoming ruling. Each time I advised them of our duty to comply with the regulation, I was told, "we're not going to do that". When I advised the Vice President of the upcoming ruling and our responsibility to post the notice of worker's rights, the VP tore off a mini post it and said, "here you go, post it." I should note that they are extremely anti-union. For example, the employee handbook specifically states, "employees are prohibited from discussing labor strategies". After discussing my discharge with several business contacts, the consensus is that my discharge, as stated by the company, was pretext for my firm stance in complying with the upcoming NLRB regulations. I was a highly decorated and accomplished executive in my firm. For the record, I began advising them the first week of September 2011, when the NLRB issued the ruling, through December 2011. I was terminated in December 2011.

John,

While we are not able to provide you legal advice on this matter I would suggest you read the information available on the Department of Labor FMLA page under the heading "Medical Certification". http://www.dol.gov/whd/regs/compliance/1421.htm

I hope you find this information helpful.
